Man pleads guilty to multiple charges in slaying of transgender man in downtown Minneapolis Copyright by WIVB — All rights reserved Video

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WIVB) — An elderly man, and a woman believed to be in her 70’s, were accused of killing their transgender son in downtown Minneapolis earlier this year.

In November, 54-year-old Donald Lee Kovalich pleaded guilty to charges of murder and criminal attempt to commit murder.

Kovalich was already facing multiple charges in connection with the killing of his son, Matthew Kovalich, on Oct. 16.

Kovalich says he shot Matthew Kovalich in the head at his car.

Kovalich says he was on his way home when his wife, Mary Kovalich, told him to go to their car. Matthew Kovalich, who had only a 3 to 5 year old son, ran back into their car, he says. Kovalich tells WIVB, he heard someone in the car say «Don’t go, don’t go». Kovalich then pulled a weapon on Matthew Kovalich and shot him in the head. Mary Kovalich told police the shooter took off in the vehicle and left after shooting a friend and then getting into a nearby cab.

According to police, Kovalich confessed to police that he shot the boy while his wife was at the car. He says he was afraid her mother was going to get in his way so he shot her too.

Kovalich is being held without bond in prison. He was arraigned Wednesd청주출장마사지ay morning on multiple counts.

In it, he says he was scared for his life for just having to hear the gunshot. He says he’s a father of two and is doing all in his power to be strong, but says he’s still suffering and doesn’t want to feel helpless.

Kovalich says he’s working at his church’s job cleaning out a store.
